Katelyn is a seasoned architecture and design professional whose decade of experience across multiple sides of the industry is exactly what makes her great at what she does today.
After earning her degree in Interior Design from Virginia Tech and her NCIDQ license, WELL AP, and LEED GA certifications, Katelyn began her career in New York City as a commercial interior designer working with firms including HOK, WeWork, and BDG. She then joined Swedish furniture brand Hem as a B2B Sales Lead and Account Manager, working with A&D studios, furniture dealers, and end users across the country from both New York and Los Angeles. Most recently, she served as a Senior Project Manager on the in-house Built Environments team at Rivian, overseeing retail, workplace, and production facility projects nationwide.
Along the way, a clear throughline emerged. Katelyn is most energized at the intersection of relationship building, problem solving, and operations. That realization shaped her current focus, working as a Fractional Operations Manager within the A&D community. In this role, she provides hands-on operational support tailored to the needs of each studio she works with. Whether that means owning HR operations, managing procurement, keeping project administration organized, managing client care and communication, or coordinating marketing efforts, Katelyn brings a type-A mindset and a genuine love of the industry to everything she does.
Her goal is simple: help studios operate more smoothly so they can spend more time designing.
